I use Google Voice as my voicemail and had the same issue. Click on that and search Notifications. I disabled all of the read out messages for new email etc.

I turned off text notification altogether doesnt help. On the lock screen Tap and then select the notification. You can follow the question or vote as helpful but you cannot reply to this thread.
