How Do I Make My Own Soldering Iron
The trick is to apply the solder AS its heating up.
How do i make my own soldering iron. Apply lots of solder to one side of the resistor then quickly melt the other side and flick it off. Any metal may do but its what I had. A good solder joint will be smooth and shiny.
That would give the tip time to burn which from the sounds of it is exactly what happened. I do have some other tools but I. People have also recommended Glass or a slice of a ceramic light bulb socket.
A nice variable-heat soldering station a considerable upgrade from a basic iron. A lot of times those new to soldering think that the application of flux is not a necessary component of the soldering process. The first was a converted 30 watt soldering iron of the pencil type.
So I had to create my own. Try dropping a series of blobs along the seam and joining them up to make the smooth seam. When you are done simply make an electrical wire pass through the pen wrap it around an end of the piece of metal and make sure they wont disconnect the best thing would be to solder them but I assume you dont have a working soldering iron.
Im going to get a hammer-head soldering tip to make the job easier and make my own battery jig outta balsa. I am in the process of getting a new soldering iron so that I can make end to end battery packs instead of the side to side battery packs I usually make. Assemble the parts and apply flux to the surfaces to be soldered.
I was thinking of somehow grinding solder wire into powder. Place the tip of the soldering iron on one side of the joint then place the solder on the OPPOSITE side of the joint. That way you dont have to worry about feeding the solder.
